The Modesto Symphony Guild's Music Scholarship

The Modesto Symphony Guild is pleased to announce the opening of the application process for the Modesto Symphony Guild Music Scholarship offered to graduating high school instrumentalists planning to study music in college. The Modesto Symphony Guild is pleased to offer a scholarship award of $2,500 this year.

Listed below are the eligibility requirements, the required documents, the selection criteria, and the selection timeline:

Eligibility

Must be an instrumentalist graduating from high school this year
Must be a resident of Stanislaus County
Must have a minimum 3.5 GPA
Must currently participate in the school music program, if available
Must be planning to major or minor in music in college starting in the Fall of 2013

Required Documents

Official High School transcript
A personal statement of one page, documenting your interest and goals in music
A letter of recommendation from a current music teacher
A letter of personal reference from a non-family member

Selection Criteria

The student’s participation in the school music program, if applicable
The student’s participation in extra-curricular activities, both musical, and other
The student’s honors and awards, both in music and other activities
Academic excellence
General musicianship
