MODESTO, CA - The Modesto Symphony Orchestra’s (MSO) holiday concerts offer fun for the entire family. Complete with holiday décor and your favorite carols, the MSO’s holiday concerts have become community favorites. The first of the MSO’s two holiday concerts is Holiday Pops! on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Gallo Center for the Arts. Conducted by Principal Pops Conductor Ryan Murray, this lively and festive concert features Broadway star Nikki Renée Daniels and the MSO Chorus. The Holiday Candlelight Concert is a more intimate concert and is returning to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church on December 17, 2024 at 8 pm. Led by MSO Chorus Director, Daniel R. Afonso Jr., this traditional holiday concert that will also feature the MSO Chorus and the Opus Handbell Ensemble.

The evening’s program features music by Mendelssohn, Mexican-composer Gabriela Ortiz, and Hersh’s own “mixtape” interpretation of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons featuring the works by Vivaldi, Richter, Ysaÿe, and Piazzolla featuring violinist, Audrey Wright.

The MSO kicks off their 94th season with acclaimed saxophonist Branford Marsalis. The evening’s program includes Marsalis performing Milhaud’s Scaramouche and John Williams’ Escapades from Catch Me If You Can. The program also features Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances from Prince Igor and concludes with Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances.

Picnic at the Pops! is a family-friendly outdoor concert that attracts thousands of music lovers from Modesto and the neighboring communities for an evening of music, dancing, and fun beneath the stars.
MODESTO, CA - The Modesto Symphony Orchestra (MSO) will present Holidays at Home with the MSO on Wednesday, December 16 at 7:00pm. This virtual holiday concert will be hosted by Associate Conductor Ryan Murray and will feature performances by the MSO Brass Quintet, the MSO Chorus, and a special performance by the Central West Ballet. The program will include Sleigh Ride, Chanukkah Latkes, The First Noel, and other holiday favorites.
MODESTO, CA - The Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra (MSYO), led by Music Director Ryan Murray, will open its 45th season with a virtual concert on Wednesday, November 18 at 7:00 pm. The virtual performance will feature both MSYO orchestras performing pieces including Pachelbel’s Canon and Bizet’s Carmen Suite No. 1., as well as two MSYO student soloists.

The virtual performance will feature a variety of works for cello by Beethoven, Brahms, Korngold and more.
MODESTO, CA - The Modesto Symphony Orchestra (MSO) will present a free virtual event featuring MSO Associate Conductor and Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra (MSYO) Music Director Ryan Murray and MSYO conductor Don Grishaw on Wednesday, September 23 at 7:00 pm. The live event will feature performances by Ryan Murray, Don Grishaw and his son Andrew (an MSYO alumni), and the MSYO String Quartet.
