What are you doing to keep patrons safe?

In order to keep our patrons, musicians, and staff safe, the MSO is closely monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation and taking precautions as necessary. We are strongly encouraging a healthy and safe environment for everyone. This includes practicing social distancing, and may result in cancelling or postponing a concert.

The Gallo Center for the Arts is also taking extra precautionary measures by rescheduling concerts as necessary. Additionally, they are increasing and intensifying their cleaning protocols throughout the building. This includes disinfecting arm rests, door handles, handrails, counters, and other common surfaces after each performance. Additional hand sanitizer dispensers are being placed in the lobby as well as backstage.

The Modesto Symphony Orchestra’s leadership, in conjunction with the Gallo Center for the Arts and the other resident companies, have implemented a COVID-19 safety policy. This policy follows the latest guidelines from the California Department of Public Health and the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Effective Wednesday, December 15, 2021, the Gallo Center and its resident companies will require that all patrons 12 years of age and above, as well as staff, volunteers & contractors, will be required to provide:

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination* with photo ID

  • OR proof of a negative COVID-19 lab test** within 48 hours prior with photo ID

Masks required for all persons at Modesto Symphony Orchestra concerts.

Following the current mandate of Stanislaus County, as well as state and federal guidelines, all persons entering the Gallo Center for the Arts, regardless of vaccination status, must wear masks. Masks are to remain on while in the facility. The only exceptions are when actively are when actively consuming food or beverages where permitted in the venue and when performers are rehearsing on stage.

*According to CDPH, people are considered fully vaccinated for COVID-19: two weeks or more after they have received the second dose in a 2-dose vaccine series OR two weeks or more after they have received a single-dose vaccine that is currently authorized for use by the FDA and WHO.

**The Gallo Center does not accept home tests as proof of a negative COVID result because they are not authenticated. We accept PCR and antigen tests, including rapid tests, from recognized test providers or laboratories that show the patient’s name, type of test performed, date of test and negative test result. Acceptable proof of a negative COVID-19 viral test result are a printed document (from the test provider or laboratory) showing the test result OR an electronic test result (email, text message, or mobile application record) displayed on attendee’s phone or mobile device.

These policies will continue until further notice.
