About this Performance

Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra, side-by-side
April’s concert is filled with inspiring and youthful energy featuring Camille Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals! This piece depicts various animals in their natural habitats through the different colors and timbres of the orchestra. Following that, we’ll dive deeper into the sounds of the orchestra with a piece by Modesto’s own and two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist composer Andrew Norman. The program will end with Copland’s Four Dance Episodes from Rodeo with the young musicians of the Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra playing side-by-side on Hoedown.

Suggested Donations to Enter:
1 can of kitten or puppy formula
4 cans of cat or dog wet food
5 lb bag of cat or dog dry food
Donations will be accepted before the start of each concert on April 11 & 12 starting from 6:30 pm until 7:15 pm. A winner from from each concert will be chosen. The winners will be contacted by April 18, 2025.
