MODESTO, CA - The Modesto Symphony Orchestra (MSO) has cancelled or rescheduled all concerts through May 2, 2020 due to the COVID-19 virus and the continuation of the state’s shelter in place mandate. All ticket holders will be contacted directly with ticketing options. The MSO is posting regular updates on their COVID-19 plans at ModestoSymphony.org/mso-health-safety.

“The health and safety of our community—our patrons, musicians, staff and volunteers—is always of the utmost importance to us.” said Caroline Nickel, President and CEO of the Modesto Symphony Orchestra. “We are deeply saddened that we can’t be on stage at this time, but we look forward to performing again hopefully soon. We are grateful for everyone’s understanding and ongoing support during this unprecedented time.”

The following concert has been rescheduled:

  • May 2: Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra Season Finale Concert - Rescheduled for May 30

The following concerts have been cancelled:

  • April 3 & 4: Mozart & Mendelssohn

  • May 1 & 2: Carmina Burana

For the time being, the May 29 & 30: Cirque de la Symphonie concerts are still taking place as originally planned. The MSO is continuing to closely monitor updates and the recommended guidance from public health experts and will send regular email updates regarding our COVID-19 plans. All updates will also be posted on the MSO website and social media. 

The following options are available for those who have already purchased tickets to a cancelled concert:

  • Donate the cost of the ticket(s) back to the MSO. This is a tax-deductible donation and helps sustain the future of the MSO so that we may continue to provide music to the community and provide support to our orchestra musicians who have also been financially impacted. 

  • Exchange for one of our Cirque de la Symphonie performances. Ticket buyers may exchange their tickets for one of the  Cirque de la Symphonie performances either on Friday, May 29  at 7:30 pm or Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 7:30 pm.

  • Receive a ticket voucher for a future MSO performance. Return your tickets for a voucher that may be used toward an MSO Classics concert in the 2020/21 season.

  • Receive a refund. You may request a refund for the value of the ticket(s)

All Mozart & Mendelssohn ticket changes must be made by April 15, 2020.

All Carmina Burana ticket changes must be made by May 1, 2020.

Ticket holders are encouraged to consider donating the cost of their ticket back to the Modesto Symphony Orchestra to help us stay strong in this challenging time. This is a tax-deductible donation and helps sustain the future of the MSO so that we may continue to provide music to the community and provide support to our orchestra musicians who have also been financially impacted.
